Mosquito Control and Reduction for the Tulsa metro area including Broken Arrow, Bixby and Jenks.
Mosquitoes are a serious problem for all residents of the Tulsa area. These pests make being outside a nightmare. The EnviroTech Exterminating Mosquito Control Program is designed to help minimize the populations of mosquitoes breeding in your yard. Although mosquitoes are flying pests and cannot be eliminated, populations can be reduced.
There are steps you can take as the homeowner or business owner to help minimize the mosquitoes breading in your area. Of course you want to minimize all standing water as the number one item. Mosquitoes lay eggs in standing water and usually where a mosquito problem exists a standing water issue is near.
EnviroTech Exterminating will provide monthly service during the seasons in which mosquitoes are a problem. This service is a separate service from all other pest control services. We do not Guarantee to eliminate mosquito populations. Controlling them is the goal as complete eradication is not possible.
Mosquitoes are vectors of numerous disease and have been responsible for numerous plagues and outbreaks of disease as long as man has been on the planet. Controlling these pests helps to minimize or reduce the risks of these pests spreading pathogens. West Nile Virus is one of the most well known problems during mosquito season. To help reduce the chances of getting West Nile stay inside in the evenings when mosquitoes are active, minimize breeding sites the mosquito lays eggs in, have a mosquito program in place to reduce the populations living in your yard. Termite Control
Termite Control and Treatment Options
Termites swarms are now in full swing here locally. The control of these pests is required when an infestation is discovered in order to prevent further structural damage. Termite Control can be done with liquid Termiticide or with bait stations. My personal preference is the liquid termiticide treatment and in this blog my goal is to explain why.
First, bait stations are expensive to install and require constant monitoring that is also expensive. The only reason I ever offer a bait station plan over a liquid termiticide is when the property itself just simply cannot be treated properly due to structural issues or perhaps water near. Bait Station Systems require the termite company that installs the system to follow-up regularly costing the customer far more than a liquid treatment ever costs.
Products available today for liquid perimeter treatments are excellent in that they work on a transfer effect. Once the Termiticide is in the ground around the perimeter monitoring appointments becomes a thing of the past. Numerous products exist that offer a transfer effect but one stands out. Termidor is the product we recommend when it comes to the treatment of termites. There are many reason why but we will save that for another post on this blog.
The Tulsa area is infested with termites. Broken Arrow, Bixby, Jenks, Coweta and the metro area are said to have up to 23 termite colonies per acre. This is a huge number. We see on a regular basis what termites can do and the damages they are capable of. Treatment is absolutely required but like many customers have asked in the past, do you prefer liquid treatment or baits?

Termites, Termite Control, and Termite Treatment
In this blog we will discuss Termites and the treatment options available. Being a locally owned pest control company in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma we see our fair share of Termites and the damages they are capable of doing. Most readers of this blog probably don't care much about learning all about termites. We understand that in most cases the readers of this simply want to find information in order to get a Termite Infestation under control. If you are in need of a Termite Treatment or Estimate please feel free to call us at (918) 282-7621 and will be happy to assist. If you are interested in more information on Termites then please read on. We have taken information from Wikipedia in order to provide the most accurate information available on termites online. Treatment options are also discussed below.
Taken from Wikipedia:
Termites are a group of eusocial insects that, until recently, were classified at the taxonomic rank of order Isoptera (see taxonomy below), but are now accepted as the epifamily Termitoidae, of the cockroach order Blattodea. While termites are commonly known, especially in Australia, as "white ants", they are only distantly related to the ants.
Like ants, and some bees and wasps—which are all placed in the separate order Hymenoptera—termites divide labor among castes, produce overlapping generations and take care of young collectively. Termites mostly feed on dead plant material, generally in the form of wood, leaf litter, soil, or animal dung, and about 10% of the estimated 4,000 species (about 2,600 taxonomically known) are economically significant as pests that can cause serious structural damage to buildings, crops or plantation forests. Termites are major detritivores, particularly in the subtropical and tropical regions, and their recycling of wood and other plant matter is of considerable ecological importance.
As eusocial insects, termites live in colonies that, at maturity, number from several hundred to several million individuals. Colonies use decentralised, self-organised systems of activity guided by swarm intelligence which exploit food sources and environments unavailable to any single insect acting alone. A typical colony contains nymphs (semimature young), workers, soldiers, and reproductive individuals of both sexes, sometimes containing several egg-laying queens.
About Termite Treatments Available:
Being that termites are social creatures and rely on each other to feed the colony Science has taken full advantage of this social behavior. Years ago the products available killed the termites on contact but this didn't take care of the colony that was already infesting an area of the home. Since the products killed all termites that come in contact with it the termites didn't make it back to the colony and many infestations remained infestations. Other products were simply termite repellants that made a barrier around the home locking in termites already present while keeping out termites that may be foraging in the dirt through the yard.
Current products work in a much more efficient manner. Termidor which is used by many pest control firms is one of the top rated products on the market. This product doesn't kill termites immediately. If allows time for the worker termites to move to and from the colony infesting all the termites that they come in contact with. This is called a Transfer Effect and takes full advantage of the termites social behavior to deal with the infestation. Other products like this are available but tend to have a shorter life span. Termidor is the name trusted most when it comes to Termite Control.
Baits, In many circumstances a combination of a product such as Termidor and Advance Bait System. In some circumstances where the structure may have water around it or other issues that prevent a full Termidor Treatment then a bait system may be used. In some cases customers want the bait stations, system rather than a perimeter treatment. We won't go into all the reasons why but just know it's a choice and one available. They work but sometimes do require more time than a traditional termite treatment with a product such as Termidor. Since the stations are located in the yard, around the structure the termites must first forage to find the stations before the product can start to work on an infestation. Once found they do work on a transfer effect much like the other products out today.
Now that you understand some of the products available keep in mind that you are protecting your most valuable asset. The home is typically the largest purchase you ever make and when choosing a termite control program as well as company to provide the service you need to consider not all products used are high quality and not all companies in the local Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Jenks, Bixby area provide the same level of service quality. Our termite treatments are done to the products label specifications to provide you years of termite protection. You can rely on EnviroTech Exterminating for all your pest control needs.
